Keeping smart at the heart of the club

We are pleased to announce that the club have placed an order for a defibrillator which will be stored at our Mardale Road Ground.

Less than 1 in 10 people survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in the UK. We need to do everything we can as a club to make sure our players and spectators can beat these odds should an emergency happen.

The Football Association (FA) and The British Heart Foundation (BHF) have worked in partnership to award a grant for two-thirds of the cost of a defibrillator which means that the club will pay around £500 to purchase this vital equipment. The club overwhelmingly voted this in, a cost we cant afford not to pay to save a life.

The purchase is the latest in a series of improvements which have been made to the Mardale Road Ground to make it the heart of our Club and Community.

We have been greatly assisted by Ribble Valley Borough Council who have provided assistance for ground maintenance and fund vital equipment. We have had the ground shockwaved which uses blades to cut and move compacted soil from side-to-side to crack it open and create efficient drainage. We have also had the pitches marked out and restructured to provide football for all age groups.

Our goals have been replaced with a set of metal roll away goals for our 9 a side pitch and 2 brand new Samba goals for our 7 a side pitches. We will now look towards purchasing new goals for our Under 13 team.

Pitch-side improvements have also been made with new respect barriers for Mardale and the Rec.

The works have meant a busy start to the season for the club, but it is hoped that we can provide over time the best facilities for our teams to play football.
