U10's Whites are having fun, fun, fun.

Longridge Town U10 Whites had their 3rd fun activity day last weekend which went down very well.

The idea is the brainchild of Jacqui Hulse, whose son plays for the team. Jacqui says that the aim of the session is "for the children to have fun and to promote healthy relationships which in turn improves mental health for the children."

Mental health is an important subject, which often goes forgotten in children's sport, but it is an area that signs need to be spotted early and our coaches are given guidance on the signs to look for. It is something that Longridge Town cares greatly about and anything we can do to improve this should be taken seriously.

The day involved the children attending Fulwood Leisure Centre and players and siblings were invited. The children played on the bouncy castle, had party games and joined in with football, badminton and jenga. There was also an Easter egg hunt, buffet for all and each child went home with an Easter egg.

Prior to this, the children have been on activity days at Laser quest and Ten Pin bowling, and the response from the children has been "FANTASTIC".

It is something that Jacqui has a strong interest in and something that we advocate more of at the club. We are very interested in setting up a parent committee to oversee these events and if you are interested, we ask that you please get in touch.
